Laboratory of Toxicology and Tropical Diseases
Head of Laboratory: Dr. Le Thi Lan Anh
The Laboratory of Toxicology and Tropical Diseases is a research unit of the Institute of Tropical Medicine. The Laboratory has the function of carrying out scientific and technological activities, international cooperation in the field of toxicology and tropical diseases; application of scientific and technical advances in the field of preventive medicine and public health.
MAIN RESEARCH DIRECTIONS
- Researching on the impact of dioxins, dioxin-like substances and other toxic substances on human health and solutions to overcome.
- Researching on epidemiology and animal epidemics to detect, monitor and diagnose emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases from nature, in the community, causing epidemics within the country, region and international.
- Researching and evaluating biological and evolutionary characteristics of pathogens; the risk of emergence, the ability to spread and cause epidemics of mutants.
- Researching, developing and applying modern techniques in surveillance, diagnosis and prevention of infectious diseases and epidemics.
