Russian Ambassador to Vietnam pays a working visit to Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center

On November 16, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich paid a working visit to the headquarters of Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center. It is also the first visit to the Center by Mr. G.S. Bezdetko as Ambassador.

Receiving and working with the Ambassador were Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Defence Minister, Head of the Vietnam Sub-Committee in the Intergovernmental Coordinating Committee for the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center (VRTC) and Boards of General Directors of Vietnamese side and Russian side of the Center.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador G.S. Bezdetko affirmed that VRTC is not only the most unique and multifunctional scientific organization but also a symbol of successful cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador highly appreciated the scientific research results of the Center in the past time and affirmed continued support for the expansion and promotion of Russia - Vietnam cooperation within the framework of the Center in the coming time.

At the working session, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien stressed that, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia is an important factor lifting the relationship of the two countries to a new height. Vietnamese Party, State, and Army always bear in mind the wholehearted and valuable supports of the Russian people and Government in the cause of Vietnam’s resistance war for national independence in the past and current national construction.

On this occasion, the two officials discussed contents related to cooperation in scientific research within the framework of VRTC and proposed prioritized key cooperation contents in the years to come in a bid to prepare for the 32^nd Meeting of the Intergovernmental Coordinating Committee for the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center./.
