Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center received the noble award from the Russian State

On the afternoon of November 19th, 2018, Vietnam - Russia Tropical Science and Technology Research Center (aka Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center) in Hanoi had the honor to welcome the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev’ visit within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam from November 18th to 19th, 2018.

Attending the reception were Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Trinh Dinh Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang,  and representatives a number of relevant ministries and branches of the two countries.

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation awarded the Order of Friendship, a noble award of the Russian State to Major General, Dr. Nguyen Hong Du, Co-Director General of the Center, for his important contributions to the development of relations between the Russian Federation and Vietnam and Certificate of Gratitude from the President of the Russian Federation to the collective of Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center.

During the meeting with the Center's staff, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev highly appreciated the scientific results of the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center, which has been recognized by the Russian and Vietnamese scientists and the world community world. The Center is a special scientific organization and a unique model of cooperation in the world. The Center’s important research results have contributed to protecting ecology, environment, biological resources, and human health in tropical climates in general and, in Vietnam, areas affected by chemical warfare in particular, improving durability, and increasing the lifespan of technical equipment in tropical conditions.

In addition to scientific contributions, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation highly appreciated the close cooperation between Russia and Vietnam at the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center, considering it as a development and cooperation in the fields of military, science, and technology and strengthening of the comprehensive relationship between the Russian Federation and Vietnam.

In his reply speech, the Co-Director General of Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center, Major General, Dr. Nguyen Hong Du, emphasized that the Russian Federation Prime Minister’s visit and presentation of noble rewards to the Center and the Co-Director General along with the signing of the the Protocol on Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center (September 6th, 2018) in Sochi opened a new phase with new conditions for the development of Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center for the benefit of the two countries. On behalf of the officials of the two countries at the Center, Major General Nguyen Hong Du expressed his deep gratitude to the leaders of the two countries, the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Science and the Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and relevant ministries and agencies of the two countries for their attention and support to Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center .
